06 — ServiceFlourishing in Later Life

“A space to connect, reflect and remember that there is still so much to discover.”

Growing older brings change.

  1. CONNECT

Create space to belong, share and be heard.

    Connection • Presence • Compassion

  2. REFLECT

Look back on the life you have lived.

    Experience • Learning • Strengths

  3. DISCOVER

Reconnect with what matters to you now.

    Values • Meaning • Curiosity

  4. EXPLORE

Consider what you are still curious about and want to discover.

Mindfulness • Possibility • Personal meaning

  5. CARRY FORWARD

Choose what you want to take into the next chapter.

    Strengths • Values • Purpose

  • Children may leave home.
  • Work may slow down or come to an end.
  • Friendships can change.
  • Our bodies change.
  • Our routines change.

And sometimes, one of the biggest challenges is feeling that there are fewer places where we can simply belong, share and be heard.

Older adults connecting warmly in an enriching community circle

These sessions, offered in collaboration with community centres and organisations, create a warm and meaningful space for older adults to connect with themselves and others.

At the heart of the work is Purna — the belief that you remain whole and complete through every stage of life.

We explore:

  • Connection
  • Curiosity
  • Presence
  • Compassion
  • Calm
  • Meaning
  • Strengths
  • Values
  • Mindfulness
  • Reflection
  • Spirituality and personal meaning

Through gentle practices, meaningful conversation and deep, receptive listening, participants are invited to reflect on the life they have lived and the chapter that is still unfolding.

Questions might include:

  • What have I learnt from my life?
  • What strengths have carried me this far?
  • What matters to me now?
  • What am I still curious about?
  • What do I want to carry forward?

Where appropriate, the program can also include one-to-one coaching sessions, offering participants a private space to explore something more personally.

The group creates belonging.

The individual space creates personal reflection.

Together, they support flourishing in later life.

Inside Flourishing in Later Life

I am enough | Flourish®

पूर्ण (PŪRṆA)

Wholeness |Fullness |Completeness

It is rooted in the belief that you are not broken, you do not need fixing, and you already carry within you many of the resources you need to navigate life.

Framework

Purna — You are already whole.

At the heart of my work is Purna, a Sanskrit concept that speaks to wholeness and completeness.

Across my work, I bring together Applied Positive Psychology, Positive Education, strengths-based approaches, CBT-informed coaching, neuroscience, mindfulness and self-compassion.

My role is not to tell people who they should become. It is to create spaces where they can pause, understand themselves more deeply, reconnect with their strengths, develop resilience and discover their own ways forward.

PURNA is my way of bringing the science, the tools and the human experience together. It is to help you develop the clarity, confidence and self-trust to make choices that feel more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

The PURNA Approach

My work is guided by five interconnected principles:

  1. P — Presence

Creating space to slow down, notice and become more aware of what is happening within and around us.

  2. U — Understanding

Understanding our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, strengths, relationships and the mental models through which we experience life.

  3. R — Resilience

Developing the capacity to navigate challenges, adapt to change and move forward without needing life to be free from difficulty.

  4. N — Nurturing

Cultivating self-compassion, connection, rest, strengths and practices that nourish our wellbeing.

  5. A — Agency

Moving from awareness to choice by recognising your values, resources and the actions available to you.

  1. Presence

  2. Understanding

  3. Resilience

  4. Nurture

  5. Agency

Whether I am working one-to-one, with parents, students, educators, women, older adults or whole communities, the intention remains the same:

To help people move from simply coping with life to developing the awareness, resources and connection that allow them to flourish.

Purna is not a formula.

It is a way of approaching people with curiosity, compassion and respect for their own resourcefulness.
