“Because the Wellbeing of the teacher matters too.”

Teaching is emotionally demanding work.

  1. UNDERSTAND STRESS

Understand stress and the nervous system.

    Stress • Self-regulation

  2. NOTICE YOURSELF

    Build emotional awareness and self-compassion.

    Mindfulness • Emotional awareness

  3. UNDERSTAND CHILDREN

    Understand children's stress responses.

    Look beyond behaviour

  4. CONNECT & RESPOND

    Connection before correction.

    Strengths-based teaching

  5. SUSTAIN WELLBEING

    Create sustainable Wellbeing practices.

    Everyday tools • Wellbeing culture

Teachers hold classrooms full of different personalities, emotions and needs while managing planning, assessment, behaviour, expectations, families and their own lives.

After more than 10 years working in school settings, I have seen how closely teacher Wellbeing and student Wellbeing can be connected.

My teacher Wellbeing workshops explore both sides of the equation:

How can I support my own Wellbeing?

and

How can I better understand and support the children in front of me?

Workshops can include:

  • Understanding stress and the nervous system
  • Teacher self-regulation
  • Mindfulness for educators
  • Self-compassion
  • Understanding children's stress responses
  • Looking beyond behaviour
  • Connection before correction
  • Strengths-based teaching
  • Emotional awareness
  • Creating sustainable Wellbeing practices
  • Building a culture of Wellbeing within schools

The workshops are rooted in neuroscience, mindfulness, Positive Psychology and practical reflection.

The intention is not to add another responsibility to a teacher's workload.

It is to offer tools that can become part of everyday practice.

Teachers don't have to be perfectly regulated to support children. They simply need greater awareness of themselves and the children they teach.

I am enough | Flourish®

पूर्ण (PŪRṆA)

Wholeness |Fullness |Completeness

It is rooted in the belief that you are not broken, you do not need fixing, and you already carry within you many of the resources you need to navigate life.

Framework

Purna — You are already whole.

At the heart of my work is Purna, a Sanskrit concept that speaks to wholeness and completeness.

Across my work, I bring together Applied Positive Psychology, Positive Education, strengths-based approaches, CBT-informed coaching, neuroscience, mindfulness and self-compassion.

My role is not to tell people who they should become. It is to create spaces where they can pause, understand themselves more deeply, reconnect with their strengths, develop resilience and discover their own ways forward.

PURNA is my way of bringing the science, the tools and the human experience together. It is to help you develop the clarity, confidence and self-trust to make choices that feel more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

The PURNA Approach

My work is guided by five interconnected principles:

  1. P — Presence

Creating space to slow down, notice and become more aware of what is happening within and around us.

  2. U — Understanding

Understanding our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, strengths, relationships and the mental models through which we experience life.

  3. R — Resilience

Developing the capacity to navigate challenges, adapt to change and move forward without needing life to be free from difficulty.

  4. N — Nurturing

Cultivating self-compassion, connection, rest, strengths and practices that nourish our wellbeing.

  5. A — Agency

Moving from awareness to choice by recognising your values, resources and the actions available to you.

  1. Presence

  2. Understanding

  3. Resilience

  4. Nurture

  5. Agency

Whether I am working one-to-one, with parents, students, educators, women, older adults or whole communities, the intention remains the same:

To help people move from simply coping with life to developing the awareness, resources and connection that allow them to flourish.

Purna is not a formula.

It is a way of approaching people with curiosity, compassion and respect for their own resourcefulness.
